House beautiful!

My home- my favourite place in the whole world. It's sometimes a glorious mess, despite being inhabited only by adults most of the time. But I insist that it's always glorious!
The first picture is of my original colour scheme with my very first FabIndia durree, which I had taken ages ago but hadn't even tried uploading. I realise now that I should have rotated it before uploading it, but never mind! The next four are of the current look.
A virtual welcome to my home, dear readers.

  1. Have you decorated it "just for" being captured or is it like this all the time? :P

  3. @mishra:I wish! Newspapers and books and CDs and shoes, plus dupattas on the last dining chair. I love it when it's tidy, but....it's home, not a museum. In fact there's a book lying on the leather sofa in the second pic which I noticed only after posting:)
    Glad you liked it.

  5. You forgot to mention that ALL kids who visit you get up on the coffee table. It's a child magnet!

  9. Dipali - enjoyed visiting your home virtually. Only miss having some hot chai sitting in that clean and lovely living area listening to some music!
Before I saw your response to mishra I thought - what - you call this glorious mess?! Actually I would not have minded the "glorious mess" picture - it would have given an even more cozy feeling of home! I like the blue in the first pic a lot!

  10. Hey everyone: Thank you. Would love to really have you over, if ever you are in town. I won't even mind if it's one of the days of glorious mess! We can still chat over a cup of tea and ignore it:)
@noon: the blue will be back sooner or later- that's the idea of having loose covers:)

  11. It's gorgeous Dipali..I love the blue - it has an electric blue running through it which instead of soothing, wakes you up!
All the pillows/cushions are standing to attention...! The ones I got with my sofa set are always droopy like you know someone sat there and forgot to fluff them back up lol!
I envy people back home for this reason - just the beautiful array of fabrics and designs to choose and decorate with.
Love the eclectic mix of leather and futon style too. I'm the kind who loves mixing pillowcovers and whatever goes with whatever too instead of sticking to one thing.
Can see after seeing your home that you're one house-proud chica!

  17. lovely home Dipali, so clean and tidy - right out of a magazine look !

Mine stays that way just for a few minutes right after I have tidied it up or at the most for an hour if kids and their dad are out !

  20. Oh wow all of you putting up pictures of your decor, makes me want to do something to my own place. But that has always resulted in a disaster so I desist :)
