Things I've never been able to understand-IV

When the term 'rani' is so sweet and appealing, why, in the same domestic context, does 'maharani' become an insult?

Marie Antionette (arey bhaiya Monginis ka cake try karey), Queen Victoria (promise hum India jaayengey), Mumtaz Mahal (mera wala marble kab aayega), Queen Elizabeth II (oho Diana tenth standard pass bhee nahee hai?)....need I explain why you would be wary to draw comparision with any of these maharanis?

It's like asking why "saala" is an abuse when it's just what you would call your wife's brother!

    Lol @ Aneela's comment.

  9. D: "saala" is apparantly an abuse because it expresses the desire of sleeping with your sister. (Thankfully no one had explained that to me as a kid.)

    Nice post, Dipali!
