A tiny bit of magic!

I stepped out into our lane this morning, rather intrigued by what looked like a broad sun beam halfway down the road. A closer look revealed that the road was carpeted by the tiny yellow flowers from the kadamb tree's laddoo like inflorescence. A strong wind had blown a little magic into our lives. Thank you, wind. ( Of course I'll be even more grateful when you blow some rain clouds and actual rain our way!)

@kbpm: Morning walks are sacred non- camera times:) (More like Dipali is a lazy bum!)

@mandira: I find summer totally awesome for its flowering trees! And Kolkata is lush and verdant all year round.

"ladoo like inflorescence" - that's such lovely imagery! I've never seen a kadamb flower before, but from your description, I guess they are round and yellow like a ladoo. Do they also scatter petals like boondis from a dropped ladoo?

dipali said...

@Lekhni: Thanks! There are loads of pictures of these laddoos on the Net-
