Welcome home!

My older son brought me this beautiful rug from Iran on this visit.
It is so lovely that a) I had to decorate my room around it, and b) I had to show it you, my gentle readers.
The divan is in the dining room. The long carved sticks you see on the corner table are whistling sticks from Bhopal- you twirl them around at speed and they whistle!

Gosh the rug is so vivid and energising! Loved it! And the whistling sticks are something my husband wants to buy at every exhibition, but I stop him, coz certain little people might assume it's for other purposes :P

@eve's lungs: The green theme is cool, lovely in peak summer. This looks lovely when it's cloudy outside:)
@sandhya: Thanks:)
@Aneela Z: Ours has always been a mad house, but the whistling sticks are a recent addition.
@chox: Thanks.*blushes modestly*
@kbpm: Thanks! Let's form a society of whistling stick owners:)

I love the rug. And the whistling sticks, I have one of them. They are used by the shepherds as they walk through the forests. They also have a rainmaker. Do you have one of those? The room looks so inviting.

@Radha:Thank you.
I didn't know about the shepherds!
I don't have a rainmaker :(

@Anjali: Thanks. It is a large flat and most of the furniture is not too large either. But you never know what size of flat we will eventually retire to.
Hope all our stuff fits when we do!
@Mandira: Thanks. I don't quite think it was the Home Science, though!
