My day was made

While waiting for my friend in the mall, I heard faint, tuneful whistling.
When I turned to look at the whistler, I was delighted to see a spry, white haired lady, perhaps in her early sixties, whistling merrily as she made her way.

Gladdened my heart, her whistling!

Lovely :) But 60s is dangerously close to our age Dippy - sounds scary . When you reach that age I suppose you can do pretty much anything .

whistling never goes out of fashion and the likes of me are doomed to struggle a sputtering mess. I can't shake the image of this lovely lady of yours -- she's whistling "Yeh shaam mastani" in my sepia version. How far off am I?

@OJ: Thanks:)
@thelastbyte: I still remember the day I finally managed to whistle, after months of abortive attempts!
I'v forgotten what she was actually whistling, but Yeh Shaam Mastaani sounds good- let me try murdering it now:)
